January seems to have been a good month for supermarket leases within the 5 boroughs, signing three of the top ten retail leases last month.
Outside of that, it was a good month for food retailers in general, as another four of the top ten were made by restaurants and bakeries.
But the biggest retail lease of all last month was not among those seven. Read on to find out which snagged the top spot on this list.
The school inked a new 10-year lease in the Flatbush building for its first location. Jake Cinti, Lindsay Ornstein and Kate Whitman of Open Impact Real Estate represented the tenant, while William O’Brien of MC O’Brien represented the landlord, Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church.
The fashion retailer renewed its lease in the Soho building. Ariel Schuster and Jason Wecker of Newmark represented the tenant, while Neith Stone, Donna Vogel and Jeffrey Gural of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord in house.
The hospitality brand inked a new lease in the Seaport District building where it plans to open its first permanent eatery in the United States. The building is owned by Seaport Entertainment Group.
The supermarket inked a new 15-year lease in the Mott Haven building. John Oliveri of STL Realty represented the tenant, while Adam Joly and Rachel Cohen of Igloo represented the landlords, Trinity Financial and MBD Community Housing.
The market signed a new lease in the Upper East Side building, filling out the space formerly occupied by a CVS. Jason Gerbsman of Hudson represented the tenant, while Patrick Smith and Jesse Wolff of JLL represented the landlord, Regency Centers.
The cosmetics retailer inked a new 10-year lease in the Flatiron District building. Brian Katz of Katz & Associates represented the tenant, while Daniel Birney of RXR represented the landlord in house, alongside a 5-member Ripco Real Estate team including Peter Ripka and Richard Skulnik. RXR owns the building with Hudson Bay Capital.
The taqueria inked a new 10-year lease in the Hudson Yards building. Neal Ohm of Newmark represented the tenant, while Matthew Mandell of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord in house.
The market signed a new 15-year lease in the Tribeca building. A 4-member KSR team including Zachary Nathan and Marc Sitt represented both the tenant and the landlord, Brookfield Properties.
The bakery signed a new 10-year lease in the Greenwich Village building. Ben Biberaj and Elliot Wygoda of Meridian Retail Leasing represented the tenant, while Joshua Roth of Manhattan Skyline Management represented the landlord in house.
The Chinese fast food restaurant signed a new lease in the Times Square building. John Roesch and Mariko Tanaka of Meridian Retail Leasing represented the tenant, while Ravi Idnani and Andrew Stern of Newmark represented the landlord, Cine Roma Properties.
