Zev Karpel
Managing Director
Mr. Karpel joined Meridian in 2005 and currently serves as a Managing Director in the company’s New York City headquarters. In this role, he is responsible for loan underwriting, placement, and transaction management for many of Meridian’s largest and most long-standing clients. Mr. Karpel is a multifamily and agency-lending specialist and transacts nationally, having closed more than 2,000 loans totaling over $40 billion in financing since joining Meridian. Among his other responsibilities, Mr. Karpel maintains strategic relationships with third parties and professionals across the country, providing local access and intelligence in all markets at any given time. He also manages a team of six underwriting, loan processing, and placement professionals in Meridian’s New York office.
Mr. Karpel received his B.A. in computer science from Yeshiva University in 2002 and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).
