Mr. Murad joined Meridian in 2018 and currently serves as a Managing Director in the company’s New York City headquarters. He is responsible for the origination and placement of loans across a broad array of property types, including residential condominiums, multifamily, hospitality, and retail in locations including the Tri-State area and nationally. Mr. Murad and his team specialize in the financing of transitional assets including land acquisitions, ground up development, value-add repositioning, and capitalization restructurings.
Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Murad was a Director at Eastern Consolidated, where he managed the execution and placement of new loan originations. Prior to joining Eastern Consolidated, Mr. Murad spent three years at GCP Capital Group where he began his career as an analyst.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Murad has negotiated more than $4 billion in financing covering residential condominiums, multifamily, hospitality, office, retail, and other property types across the United States. Notable financing transactions negotiated by Mr. Murad include a $350 million construction loan for a 66-story condominium development at 126 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, and a $68 million bridge loan for the repositioning of a 257-key hotel into the Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina in Rhode Island.
Mr. Murad holds a Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude in finance and real estate from the University of South Carolina. He is also a member of REBNY and was recognized by Commercial Real Estate 20 Awards as a “Rising Star of Commercial Real Estate- Advisory” in 2019.
